Join Edgbaston NNS in partnership with Alzheimer's Society and Amba Care for an interactive and informative day around Dementia. The event is funded by Edgbaston NNS and is open to citizens, carers and the cared for, professionals, social workers and community organisations who wish to be able to better support those living with Dementia.
Objectives
Raise Awareness: Educate attendees about dementia, its symptoms, and the impact it has on individuals and their loved ones.
Networking Opportunities: Provide a space for professionals, caregivers, and community members to connect and share resources.
Support and Resources: Offer information on available support services.
Community Engagement: Encourage community involvement in advocacy and support initiatives to provide dementia friendly activities and spaces.
Alzheimer's Society will run a Dementia Friends workshop as well as a South Asian 'Singing for the Brain' session for a vocal warm-up which is sure to get you tapping your toes! Amba Care will run a Dementia Bingo that is fun for everyone to join in, but also informative in understanding the risks factors for Dementia. There will be other interactive and engaging workshops for everyone to take part in throughout the day. A full agenda and venue will be communicated in due course. There will be information stalls and resources available. Refreshments and lunch will be served.
